With the Vinyl Cutter, students have developed a set of workflows for using the machine to make personalized stickers for among other things, decorating cellphones and other personal devices. We have also developed a system for using the vinyl as a stencil for making silkscreen t-shirts with custom designs. One student also developed a new system for creating printed circuit boards, which would normally be purchased. He then went on to market these vinyl stickers to customers worldwide. Other students have worked on multi color images made of vinyl stickers.
With the Shopbot, students have continued to develop ideas from previous years around the themes of making three dimensional assemblies of custom designed parts. These include an original board game and personal organizer projects. Other students have been making signs out of wood stock with customized images and words on them.
Abby Ellis grade 9 9, Will Maragioglio grade 9, Zach Benoit grade 10, Steve Kearney grade
